Call for Nominations: Award for Excellence

July 18, 2010 - Call for Nominations- 2010 SELAM Award for Excellence to be given at the SELAM Reception at the AAMC Meeting.

Each year SELAM International presents two Awards for Excellence to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of women leaders in the academic health professions. Attached are a description of the award and a list of past recipients. Each award is presented to the awardee at a reception during the AAMC or ADEA annual meetings.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to recognize someone who has made an important contribution to development of women in your institution. Selection Criteria include:

  • Senior administrator for excellence in enhancing the careers of women faculty.
  • National recognition as a leader.
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to the advancement and promotion of women to executive positions in academic health professions.
  • Active mentoring of women faculty, including encouragement and support of women's advancement.
  • Outstanding service as role model for other administrators in their efforts to advance women's leadership.

Please provide a complete nomination package no later than September 16, 2010The nomination package should include 3 letters (maximum) from individuals familiar with the nominee's work, who can outline in detail their contributions to the promotion of women's leadership, and a current curriculum vita for the nominee. We also request that you verify that the nominee would be able to attend the SELAM Award Reception to accept this honor in person.
